Ramboll Adopts Transcend’s Generative Design Technology to Transform Water &  Wastewater Project Delivery

Transcend, the global leader in generative design software for critical infrastructure, today announces that Ramboll, a global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company, will begin the first phase of implementing the Transcend Design Generator (TDG) to accelerate and optimize the preliminary design of water & wastewater projects across Europe and beyond.

The adoption of Transcend’s generative design technology supports Ramboll’s commitment to delivering faster, more sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for communities worldwide. By automating early-stage design processes, Ramboll’s engineers can rapidly generate and evaluate multiple technical options, ensuring the best outcomes for clients while navigating increasingly complex regulatory and environmental requirements.

“At Ramboll, we are always seeking innovative ways to advance sustainable solutions and better serve our clients,” said René Hoeijmakers, Global Service Line Lead for Water & Wastewater Treatment. “Integrating Transcend’s generative design capabilities into our project workflows over time will allow us to increase efficiency, enhance quality, and accelerate the delivery of essential water infrastructure.”

Transcend’s software enables project teams to automate the conceptual and preliminary design of infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, booster stations, lift stations, and substations for renewable energy. The platform delivers comprehensive outputs such as civil drawings, 3D models, equipment lists, CAPEX and OPEX estimates, and technical reports — with an intelligent engineering data layer — empowering engineers to focus on innovation and informed decision-making.

“We are delighted to work with Ramboll, one of the world’s leading consultancies in the built environment and sustainable development,” said Adam Tank, Co-Founder & Chief Communications Officer at Transcend. “Together, we can redefine how infrastructure is designed, bringing greater speed, quality, and resilience to the projects that shape our world.”
