Caesb and Transcend Collaborate to Bring Advanced Generative Design to Sanitation Infrastructure in Brazil

Transcend’s generative design platform will support Caesb’s modernization efforts and accelerate sustainable wastewater projects in the region

Brasília, Brazil – 7/2/25 — Transcend, a global leader in generative design software for critical infrastructure, today announced a new collaboration with Caesb (Companhia de Saneamento Ambiental do Distrito Federal). The utility company will use Transcend’s platform to automate the preliminary design of wastewater treatment plants and related infrastructure, improving project delivery timelines, reducing costs, and supporting sustainability goals.

Caesb joins a growing group of forward-thinking organizations in Brazil embracing generative design technology to optimize infrastructure planning and meet the increasing demand for water and wastewater services in the region.

To support this initiative, Transcend is also partnering with FF Solutions, a technology company recognized for driving digital transformation in the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations) and Manufacturing sectors. FF Solutions is leading the integration of Transcend’s platform into Caesb’s workflows, enhancing the value of generative design across projects.

“This partnership allows us to incorporate cutting-edge design automation into our engineering workflows. By leveraging AI and generative design, we’ll be able to drastically accelerate project development. For instance, a conceptual lift station design that would typically take 15 days could be completed in about four hours,” said Caesb President Luis Antonio Reis.

The platform will enable the automation of preliminary engineering deliverables, including process flow diagrams, 3D models, capital cost estimates, and other critical design documents.

Caesb expects to reduce the time and resources required for early project stages, freeing teams to focus on high-value engineering challenges and long-term sustainable planning.

“We are thrilled about this partnership and our continued expansion in Brazil. Utilities worldwide are under pressure to deliver infrastructure faster and more efficiently. By adopting generative design, Caesb is taking a leadership role in modernizing wastewater treatment in the country,” said Adam Tank, Co-Founder & Chief Communications Officer.

“By bringing an innovative technology to Brazil’s sanitation sector, we’re not only accelerating project timelines, but also fostering a new culture of innovation and scalability. This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s infrastructure challenges,” said Diego Faria, COO at FF Solutions.
