Enhancing Brownfield Projects: Transcend Design Generator’s Latest Features

This update simplifies the brownfield project workflow and aids in accurate decision making during the conceptual and preliminary phases of projects. This upgrade promises to streamline site assessments and design choices for water & wastewater utilities & engineering firms.

We’re excited to introduce the latest upgrade to the Transcend Design Generator (TDG), aimed at improving brownfield projects. This enhancement focuses on simplifying site assessments and design decisions for existing sites. By leveraging existing assets marked within the user interface (UI), TDG now provides clearer insights into the “net new” assets needed for brownfield applications. This means users can assess existing sites more efficiently for additional hydraulic capacity and regulatory compliance. With clearer identification of necessary additions, users can save time and resources during project assessments.

This update also ensures that information about existing assets and previous equipment is more clearly showcased in the technical documentation, eliminating the need for users to recall setup details from memory. This results in a more intuitive experience that enhances productivity and accuracy across the board.

Specific enhancements in TDG for brownfield wastewater projects:

  • Enhanced capability to identify “net new” assets required for existing sites and brownfield applications.
  • Clear identification of necessary additions in all generated technical documentation, for example in the PS and Equipment List. (See images below.)
  • Improved visibility of existing assets in technical documentation, reducing the need for users to remember setup details.
  • Addition of extra information on the UI screen related to existing assets, particularly focusing on main consumers of the ancillary equipment of secondary treatment. Extra information can be added, for example, the number of units, capacity, and installed power.
  • TDG UI now includes more optional input fields for calculation purposes that enable capturing more info about existing site conditions and existing assets. (See images below.)
  • Clear separation and presentation of existing and new structures in civil documents.
  • Ability to model existing assets in civil drawings, clearly identifying them as “Existing” for easier visualization.
  • Clearer data for Biological Reactors, including Technical Specification and Design and Operational Parameters.
