Water We Up To – 2023 Q1

Written by: Gabor Kovacs, VP of Delivery

As the new year approaches, Transcend is excited to announce our plans for the first quarter. And with the addition of our new VP of Delivery, Gábor Kovács, aka Myself, we’re confident that this will be a successful and productive start to the year. I will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of our software development projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. As we move into Q1, we wanted to provide an update on our plans and progress since our last update in Q4. In the previous article, I highlighted some of our key goals and initiatives for the quarter, and we’re excited to share how those efforts have progressed and what we have planned for the coming months. We hope you’ll join us as we continue to make progress towards our goals and build a bright future for Transcend.

If I would have to summarize the plans for 2023, it will be the year we bring true circularity to our Water product. This means, that we are already working on solutions to aim for not only treatment of municipal and some industrial wastewaters, but new kinds of industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment, water reuse, and a lot of smaller solutions around these topics. This will not be a fast joyride, and you will not see a lot from these in the early quarters, but you can expect we are working on these.

For the start of the quarter, we would like to show some surprises around our UI, allowing an easier transition between metric and imperial output documents, and also some smaller enhancements on the site. The big things we will share with you will be the Biological Phosphorus removal for MBR and MBBR-IFAS treatment types later in the quarter, which we are very excited about.

We are planning to allow better experience for the site marking page, allowing to export and import data as well, and some smaller adjustments like allowing the users to specify the number of primary clarifiers they want, if they would like to.

We will spend time in the quarter to bring you some much more wanted solutions, that we hopefully can deliver by the end of it. This includes a detailed Embedded Carbon footprint document for each design, which was highly requested, and we plan to release to the general platform a completely upgraded P&ID and other mechanical documentation.

Finally, we would like to finish up the quarter by publishing our first open-source solution to the engineering and development community… but the content of that is going to be a secret for now.

It seems like this year our glass will be half full with wastewater, half full with drinking water, and electrocuted by the expansion of our substation product, but we certainly won’t leave you thirsty for new features on the TDG platform.
